October 2013 Summit County Real Estate Update
This month’s report continues our latest trend of positive happenings in Summit County real estate.
Right now the under contracts are ahead of last year. In fact, the county is about 11 percent ahead of next week’s total under contracts, too. Also, Summit County residential sales through September 29th are up 22 percent.
Currently, the county’s enjoying a 17 percent improvement in the amount of properties going under contract. However, there has been a decline in the number of Summit County homes under contract recently. Over the last 4 weeks, the county was down by 35 properties.
But this 17 percent increase will reduce those 35 homes to 28 instead. Every little bit helps.
While the under contracts are a bump in the road, the Summit County market is heading towards an overall positive gain in 2013.
It should be pointed out, though, that the average sold price today is down 6.4 percent. That translates to -5.5 percent in the north and -7 in the south.
Still, there’s a lot to be happy about when it comes to the Summit County market. The landscape is improving little by little and that’s reason to celebrate!
